  • Represented a lawyer and law firm in a legal malpractice case before the U.S. Supreme Court, which held that state courts may hear claims alleging legal malpractice in the handling of a patent case, reversing the Texas Supreme Court
  • Defended a major U.S. energy company in a multi-billion dollar fraud and breach of contract suit arising from the failed sale of a large producing oil field
  • Defended a multi-national company against  claims of tortious interference and fraud concerning the construction of an Asian LPG project
  • Represented a chemical plant maintenance contractor regarding claims arising from explosion of a chemical plant process vessel that caused multiple fatalities, serious burn-related personal injuries, and property damage
  • Defended a national trading company of the People's Republic of China from enforcement of an arbitration award and civil sanctions regarding the failed financing and construction of a chemical facility in Pakistan
  • Defended an insurance broker in an E&O claim regarding failure to procure necessary insurance for a multi-million dollar construction project
  • Represented a national insurer in coordinating the defense of a pipeline operator regarding claims arising from a major explosion that resulted in multiple fatalities, serious burn-related personal injuries, and alleged environmental contamination
  • Represented the insurer of an herbal supplement manufacturer in nationwide litigation pertaining to ephedra products during the height of the "ephedra scare"
  • Represented the owner of an oil rig in Harrison County, Texas, against property damage, personal injury, and death claims resulting from the largest land-based oil rig explosion in Texas
  • Defended an international manufacturer in a federal class action resulting from the sale of laser products throughout the U.S.
  • Defended a national consumer service company in a Texas class action suit alleging misrepresentations to consumers throughout the U.S.
  • Defended the owner of an offshore drilling unit in Harris County, Texas, against a claim by a construction contractor regarding a conversion from a mobile drilling unit (MDU) to a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility
  • Defended a manufacturer of gas cylinders in a product liability case in Brazoria County, Texas, arising out of a cylinder explosion and fire causing catastrophic injuries
  • Defended a multi-national energy company against a claim for fraud and tortious interference arising from an oil rig construction project
  • Defended a number of oil, gas, and chemical companies in state and federal courts against numerous claims resulting from plant and refinery operations in Texas and Louisiana
  • Defended a major truck manufacturer in a patent infringement suit in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama
  • Defended a major chemical manufacturer against claims arising out of a bulk carrier collision with a chemical facility that resulted in property damage and business interruption
  • Defended a national oil supplier against claims by an automobile manufacturer regarding defective fuel
  • Defended a Louisiana facility against environmental claims concerning contaminated gasoline in Dallas County, Texas, and Eastern District of Texas lawsuits
  • Represented gas shippers against a major common carrier pipeline operator for shortages throughout its interstate system
  • Represented an integrated energy company in international arbitration regarding construction of two ultra-large crude carriers
  • Defended the owners of an oil storage facility in Chambers County, Texas, against environmental, property damage, personal injury, and death claims arising from a tank farm explosion
  • Defended a Fortune 100 energy company in a Galveston, Texas, dispute with joint venture owners concerning breach of contract and fraud issues related to a joint operating agreement, gas balancing issues, and proper accounting standards
  • Represented numerous Texas law firms in an E&O claims throughout the state
  • Defended accounting firm against negligence and other allegations arising from leveraged foreign currency option transactions
