Brit Brown is the Managing Partner of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons. He provides marketing assistance and other pre-dispute advice, and represents clients in trial, arbitration, administrative proceedings, and pre-trial issues. His practice focuses on both commercial and tort-related disputes in the energy and automotive industries.

  • Secured arbitration of a claim on behalf of an offshore gathering system seeking damages resulting from the defendant's wrongful release of dedicated gas-producing properties
  • Represented a motor vehicle manufacturer in dealer termination, relocation, and add point disputes, resulting in the manufacturer's being permitted to implement its marketing plans
  • Represented a chemical plant maintenance contractor regarding claims arising from explosion of a chemical plant process vessel that caused multiple fatalities, serious burn-related personal injuries, and property damage
  • Defended a major oil company against a claim asserted for alleged breaches of an offshore oil and gas operating agreement
  • Represented a major insurer, assisting a chemical plant operator in investigating the cause of a plant fire and collecting physical evidence in relation to a CSB and OSHA investigation
  • Defended a major gas company against a gas supplier seeking rights of incremental price increases
  • Defended a major oil company with a significant working interest in a unitized field in arbitration of a dispute against royalty owners contesting plant splits and other royalty adjustments
  • Defended an oil and gas company in an arbitration over a failed transaction involving the sale of offshore oil and gas producing properties
  • Defended a major producer of specialty chemicals in a suit filed by alleged agents on behalf of a Mexican corporation involved in the importation of the specialty chemicals into the Mexican market
  • Represented a medical device manufacturer in a products liability action alleging that serious and life-threatening burns were caused by alleged defects in an oxygen regulator
  • Defended a manufacturer of medium and heavy duty trucks against a claim being asserted by a transporter purporting to have a distribution agreement
  • Represented an oilfield service company in a personal injury action involving fatalities and significant burn injuries allegedly caused by negligent workover operations that allegedly caused a well blow out
  • Arbitrated a dispute in defense of a major oil and gas service provider against a well owner who claimed loss of the well due to a down-hole failure
  • Defended a major oil corporation against a construction worker who sustained severe injury and disfigurement
  • Represented an automobile manufacturer in an administrative trial in which automotive dealers contested the manufacturer's allocation and pricing programs
  • Represented a medium duty truck manufacturer in an administrative trial against a franchise dealer seeking the right to market additional and new models of the manufacturer's products
  • Defended an automotive manufacturer before a state commission investigating the manufacturer's warranty and service network
